Deceased man found near Olympic View Middle School

UPDATE: The Medical Examiner's Office determined that the man died by suicide.

The body of a deceased 18-year-old man was found in the 7300 block of 48th Avenue West near Olympic View Middle School this morning.

At around 7 a.m., Mukilteo Police officers were dispatched to a report of an injured individual. Officers located the body of a man on the trail near the back of the school campus. 

The body was taken to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner's Office.

The area was closed while detectives were on scene investigating; various counselors provided support to students who may have been impacted by the incident.

The area is now clear and open for students to walk home. Police said that there does not appear to be a threat to the public.
