The beloved “Heart of Mukilteo” parade will once again bring color, community spirit, and celebration to the streets of downtown Mukilteo during the annual Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival. This year, the City of Mukilteo is taking the lead in organizing the event, which steps off at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6.
The parade is a longtime community favorite, showcasing local groups, youth organizations, marching bands, and spirited displays that capture the heart of Mukilteo. Residents and visitors are encouraged to line the parade route early to enjoy the sights and sounds of one of the festival’s most treasured traditions.
Shuttle service for attendees
To make the parade more accessible, the Lighthouse Festival is offering free bus service from Olympic View Middle School and Kamiak High School beginning at 10:30 a.m. The shuttles will provide a one-time drop-off in front of Red Cup Café, allowing attendees to enjoy the parade before heading down to the festival grounds at Lighthouse Park. Return buses will be available only from the festival back to the schools, so attendees should plan their travel accordingly.
Opportunities to participate
Parade organizers encourage community members not just to watch but to get involved. Opportunities remain open to participate in the parade, volunteer, or support the event in various ways. Anyone interested in joining the lineup or lending a hand is asked to visit the Lighthouse Festival website at mukfest.com for details.
A community tradition
The “Heart of Mukilteo” parade has long served as a showcase of local pride and togetherness, drawing neighbors, families, and visitors alike. With this year’s event under city management, organizers hope to keep the parade’s traditions strong while welcoming new participants and audiences.
